The Los Angeles Black Worker Center (LABWC) is a growing organization at the forefront of the racial justice and worker rights movements in LA since 2011. We seek to hire an Accountant who will be a member of our Operations and Finance Team, which is a small but mighty group organized to produce high-quality output. The ideal candidate will develop a thorough understanding of LABWC operations, revenues, expenditures, and grant compliance requirements. Sample capacities include maintaining comprehensive accounting records, reconciling expense accounts, and possessing a fluid understanding of generally accepted accounting principles.
Job Description Overview: Lead Community Organizer
The Lead Community Organizer will lead by example and inspire diverse communities of Black workers into action with the LABWC. They will manage and supervise a team of up to 5 organizers to recruit new members; develop leaders and build committees, and mobilize members for direct action campaigns. The position also includes cultivating and maintaining relationships with key community organizations and elected officials. Ideal candidates must possess a demonstrated commitment to self-determination for the Black community, social change strategies, and the ability to empathize and build relationships with Black workers.

The Administrative Assistant will be a highly skilled professional responsible for providing administrative and accounting support within our Operations department! He/She/They will work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment supportive of Black worker advocacy and economic justice. This position reports to the Operations Coordinator and will display a high level of communication skills, possess exceptional social skills, and will additionally deliver a distinguished extent of maturity in handling business and confidential situations.
